2017 has proven to be a groundbreaking year for Mosquito Joe. Not only has our franchise system grown tremendously over the past four years, but the Corporate team supporting that system has grown as well and is now gaining national attention for its accomplishments. We are thrilled to announce that Mosquito Joe’s parent company, Buzz Franchise Brands, has been named one of Inc. Magazine’s Best Workplaces for 2017. This ranking identifies the top companies that have created exceptional workplaces through vibrant cultures, deep employee engagement, and stellar benefits. Out of thousands of applicants, Buzz Franchise Brands was listed as one of the top 50 of just over 200 distinguished companies to be recognized.

Since its founding in 2012, Buzz Franchise Brands has ensured that the office is a place where its team wants to come to work and enjoys days spent with others on the team. Brand leaders emphasize the importance of relying on each employee’s unique strengths to contribute to the company’s overall vision. In four short years, the brand has grown from an office of five people to over thirty and from one corporate location to 235 franchise locations open across 32 states, with another 60 under development.

What does it take to become a company that workers want to be part of? Inc. Magazine says it’s more than good pay and good perks – it’s also about having a clear purpose, a sense of humor, and leadership that makes the two work together.

The 2017 Inc. Best Workplaces Awards assessed applicants on the basis of benefits offered and employees’ responses to a unique, 30-question survey fielded by each of the applying companies. Responses were evaluated by the research team at Quantum Workplace. For its results to qualify, each company had to achieve a statistically significant response rate based on employee count. Survey scores account for employer size to level the playing field between small and large businesses. All companies had to have a minimum of 10 employees and to be U.S.-based, privately held, and independent – that is, not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies.
“By introducing an employee survey into this year’s Best Workplaces selection process, we’ve really raised the bar. Companies that don’t score at the very top of their peer group don’t make the cut. So, our hats are off to the winners. They all excelled at engaging their workers, making them feel appreciated, and aligning them behind a mission. And remember, that’s not just our opinion: The employees told us that themselves,” says Eric Schurenberg, Inc.’s President and Editor in Chief.
Aside from this most recent recognition, Mosquito Joe has received a number of accolades in 2017 including a coveted ranking on Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 list, Top 200 Franchises of 2017 by Franchise Business Review and the top spot on Franchise Gator’s list of the New Year’s Fastest Growing Franchises.
